Dont use them These people are dirty

WARNING!!!!!!!! DO NOT RENT THE COMMUNITY USE BUILDINGS!!!!!!!!!!

Let me tell you a story, My husband and I rented the JW Smith building with a deposit. This deposit was a $100.00 damage deposit fee and a $100.00 cleaning deposit fee which equals a total of $200.00. This means that the building must be left clean and undamaged. Well here it goes, it was 9:30 pm and we had to be out of the building by 10:00pm so needless to say we were in a rush to get it cleaned up. Sure enough the inspector arrived at 10pm on the dot and we were not completely finished. The inspector said he had to go and inspect the other building and as long as we were done upon his return we would be fine and he would inspect it at the point of his return. We obviously agreed and got back to work. Two of our friends stayed to help us one of which had 2 children. We cleaned that place from top to bottom and double checked to make sure there were no damages. As I was closing the door the inspector pulled up and I asked if he would like for me to keep the door open for him and he said “sure that would be great”. As my husband and I were strapping down the grill to the truck the inspector entered, inspected and started loading the trash in to his truck. We offered our help to return the favor. We helped load ALL the trash in to his truck and he said that the place looked good and we had passed the inspection. I returned the keys as requested in to there box at the office.
About 2-weeks later I received a check in the mail and it was made out for $25.00……… To make a long story short I called numerous Clayton County Water Authority employees and nobody could understand my anger in not getting my deposit back. They held $175.00 of my deposit because we left late. Might I remind you of the conversation between the inspector and I about him coming back “and that it would all be fine”. The deposit was not even for that reason. If that really is the case then leaving the “drive way” should be in the contract not the “Building”. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the place and it was clean. I was told by Mike that there is a “Formula” they go by. This “Formula” is not in the contract either which it should be. I still can not justify the $175.00 being held back, other than the fact that they were trying to make a profit off of this and they claim to rent these out to people to HELP the community. I will never use these buildings again and I will be sure to warn every body I know, that they are dirty crooks.
